The first event, the Sustainability Fair, took place on June 3 in Manesar and surpassed all expectations in terms of attendance and engagement. The fair’s primary objective was to raise awareness about sustainability and promote environmentally conscious practices. The event featured various engaging activities, including interactive workshops, panel discussions, and exhibitions. Additionally, ZeroWaste invited renowned artists to showcase their works of art that highlighted the importance of environmental preservation. The Sustainability Fair proved to be an incredible platform for like-minded individuals to connect, share ideas, and discover innovative solutions to address environmental challenges.
The second event, titled “MY Waste MY Responsibility – Mobile Pic Campaign,” encouraged participants to take responsibility for their waste management practices. Participants were asked to capture a week’s worth of their garbage collection with their families and submit the pictures through an online form. This campaign aimed to raise awareness about individual consumption patterns and the impact of waste on the environment. The overwhelming response from participants highlighted their commitment to sustainable living and the growing recognition of the need to address waste management collectively.
ZeroWaste’s third event, “Plogging in Aravalli – Reels Challenge,” took place on June 4 and combined fitness and environmental consciousness. Participants were invited to engage in the fitness activity of plogging, which involves jogging while collecting litter. The event also incorporated a reels challenge, where participants created short videos capturing their plogging experience and shared them on social media platforms. By merging physical activity with environmental action, ZeroWaste aimed to promote the importance of maintaining clean surroundings while showcasing the power of social media to amplify sustainability messages.
In addition to these events, ZeroWaste organized a Quiz for Environment & Sustainability, which provided participants with a platform to test their knowledge and share awareness about key environmental topics. The quiz covered various subjects, including the recent COP 27 conference, types of plastic, the definition and usage of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), the significance of plants in reducing carbon footprint, and information about organizations such as CIPET (Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology) and CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board). Furthermore, the quiz addressed the impact of different industries on sustainability, the unique properties of plants that release oxygen at night, and the permissible limits of PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the air.
